HARP-ABILITIES
Harp-Abilities, through No-C-Notes Music, can bring the joy of harp for those with physical challenges. Introduction to harps, assistance provided for music teachers and the harpist-wanna-be with special attention to each musician’s ability. Specializing in, but not restricted to, those with visual impairment. Contact Christina for information on bringing a Harp-Abilities workshop or introduction to your area and organization. Available in United States and Canada.
If your organization helps those with physical challenges, is in the Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin area, then the Harp-Abilities intro program is available as a community service to you. This is a short program of Celtic harp playing and instruction for children and adults of various challenging physical abilities. All attendants will have an opportunity to play a harp, discovering their Harp-Abilities.
If your organization is outside of the northern Minnesota and Wisconsin area, please contact Christina for a seminar proposal.
Harp Light issue #17 (Fall 2005) and Folk Harp Journal Spring/Summer 2006 has an article by Christina about Harping for the Visually Impaired, Harping for Harmony, and different harps used by students at the Summer Music Institute for the Blind. Download article
