The ERIC Clearinghouse on Disabilities and Gifted Education (ERIC EC) is part of the National Library of Education (NLE), Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI), U.S. Department of Education. ERIC EC is operated by The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). ERIC EC provides information on the education of individuals with disabilities as well as those who are gifted. National Resource Center for Blind Musicians Catering to those who are blind or have severe visual problems, this site provides information on Braille music and technology, as well as adjustment strategies used by visually impaired music students of all ages, their teachers and parents. The Resource Center is best known for its summer program for college-bound musicians. It is a division of the Music and arts Center for Humanity. Greater Detroit Agency for the Blind and Visually Impaired The Greater Detroit Agency for the Blind is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing blindness, reducing the impact of blindness, and advocating for those with severe vision loss. The agency was named the best managed non-profit organization under $3 million budget for 2000 by Crain's Detroit Business (December 18-24, 2000 issue). Lighthouse for the Blind, Duluth, MN The Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired is a comprehensive rehabilitation agency and offers a variety of programs to meet the needs of the people we serve. Music Education Network For The Visually Impaired (MENVI) is an information network composed of musicians, specialists, students, parents, and music educators of visually impaired students. The MENVI Advisory Committee is made up entirely of blind musicians and teachers. MENVI exists for, and is guided by blind musicians. MENVI provides a network of information as well as a resource guide to Braille music and the teaching of blind children and adults.
